Tuck in folks! Let’s get down with some artificial pork flavoring!
Two flavor packets on this one – Soup base and seasoning sauce.
The seasoning sauce packet had lots of sesame seeds in it and sesame oil and another flavor I’ve tasted before but I can’t place – rice vinegar perhaps?
Neat stuff (click image to enlarge). The broth was a murky melange of flavor and floating seeds that nestled within the sea of noodles nicely. I liked it. 3.5 out of 5 stars! Get it here.
Hey the flavour that you’re unable to pinpoint I have found — Ketchup. No joke. Try it again and you’ll see what i mean.
Interesting – might just have to try that again.

The Tonkatsu flavor is not my favorite, I also agree with the 3.5 stars. But it’s ramen and ramen can never be that bad. I still enjoy it immensely but prefer XO and miso over this.
Yeah the XO Sauce flavor was really quite nice. I hadn’t ever heard of XO sauce until I tried it and then I looked it up on Wikipedia and now I think I’m going to have to go buy some of that stuff…
That’s a really funny question I found myself asking today as well (see Saigon Ve Wong Kung-Fu Artifical Pork Flavor Instant Noodles Vietnam Flavor) – I’m guessing here its a melange of different spices but on the Kung-Fu it was soy protein. I’ll look at the store tomorrow and get the seasoning ingredients; maybe more clues.mm
