I think after this, sesame flavor and spicy seafood flavors are left! So let’s get it on with the spicy flavor! Woo haw!
A simple pairing of packets; base and oil. Color appropriate.
I liked the little pictures of the peppers on the packet – Neato!
So you know that sound people make when impersonating the sound of laser blasts on Star Wars? That ‘pew p-p-pew pew?’ Well, when I opened this packet it kinda went ‘pew’ and squirted out oil. Some even missed the bowl. I don’t know if I should dock rating points for this or blame it on my innate need to squeeze the packet too much whilst attempting opening it…
Final product (click image to enlarge). So if you wanna appear to be the man and impress your friends my buying a case of this stuff and saying ‘look at me! this stuff is way hot and I can handle it!’ then you’re a poseur… Officially, its not hot. In fact its not at all hot if you ignore the soup base. Its more of a salty soup with sesame oil. It’s tasty but not a spicy one by any means. I think the Koreans have this one corner of the ramen market corner with Nongshim Shin Ramyun. The kids love that stuff… Anyways, yeah disturbing after all the enjoyment I’ve had with the Nissin Demae ramens so far. 2 out of 5 stars. Get it here.
Just had a re-try…nope. still not spicy but I made it without the s-oil this time and added a bunch of homemade kimchi…delicious salty soup.
Eating this one right now. I agree, not spicy. Not unpleasant but the blazing red package promises so much more.
