#648: Nongshim Noodle Soup Seafood Ramyun

This was sent to me by Greg B. of Marathon, Florida! I was a little surprised that I haven’t reviewed this one before, but sure enough, I haven’t! Let’s rip open some Korean ramyun!

Here’s the back of the packaging (click image to enlarge).

Came with two packets – a powder seasoning on top and veggies on the bottom.

Yeah here’s where all that sodium’s coming from! A huge angry red mound of spicy goodness!

Usually it’s a full circle, but a little got crunched during shipping.

The broth is a great balance of heat and that ‘of the sea’ taste. The veggies are ample and everywhere, just like I like. I like this one a lot – kind of like Neoguri but different slightly. Good stuff! 3.75 out of 5.0 stars. The UPC barcode is 031146155200 and you can get it here.

I really dig Gershon Kingsley, but unfortunately, he’s a Yankees fan.

  1. First time with the Nong Shim seafood ramyun…i’ve had some of the others and loved them…i figured why not? the first slurp of broth from my chinese soup spoon had a fireball landing in the back of my throat i was NOT expecting. the heat from this one is a good bit more intense than the Gourmet Spicy flavor. It may be because the seafood broth is a bit “cleaner” tasting on the palate. It really tastes like a good seafood broth/stock, but not fishy at all. Bit on the spicy side for me today. I have another pack and will try it with an egg next time.

  2. I almost did not even pick this up. Knowing Nong Shim is a real popular west coast brand. I checked the list to be sure and was surprised it had not been reviewed.
