Here’s another one from Scott at Nissin. Noticed this was another one that was needing review as it’s a little past its date. Let’s check it out!
Back of the package (click image to enlarge). Not sure if it contains meat.
The noodle block.
Liquid soup base.
Has a nice soy sauce scent with a slight sweetness.
Finished (click image to enlarge). Added green onions, hard boiled egg and beef sauteed in soy sauce. The noodles are chewy and plentiful. The broth is well done – full of rich soy sauce flavor and just the right amount of oil. 4.0 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 4902105107102.
Nissin Raoh TV commercial.
I recently bought these through Amazon after hearing great reviews. The noodles were very good. I liked the sauce, but when I opened the packet, there was some oil along with the sauce. when I mixed it in with the noodles and water, the oil didn’t mix and kind of floated on the top of the bowl. Not really appetizing. Is that a fluke? Should I have drained off the oil?
Hmm I don’t remember that part of it, but usually there is oil going on with these higher end varieties. One thing I do usually if it’s a liquid/oil/paste sachet is that I kind of knead it a bit to mix it up. A lot of them have congealed/hardened a bit and so kneading it brings everything back into it’s more mixed form.

What is the method you used to prepare? How much water? How long to soak? etc.
I go with what it says on the package – you can see it on the little side panels pic.

Nice. The noodle quality in these are superb for brick package type. I’m trying to get my grocer to carry the Maruchan Seimen series but so far no luck..
Yeah import restrictions are tough here…
