I got an email in April saying a package was on its way from a fan of The Ramen Rater in Indonesia – in late March! Today when I checked the mail, there was a note saying a package was in the office. So my son and I walked up to the office and here’s the package! After sixty-six days of travel via Seamail, it is here! The sender wishes to remain unnamed, so I will just say thank you very much! So the outside of the box was covered in a woven plastic covering.
After sixty-six days of travel, the cardboard of the box was very squishy.
After removing the top, I was greeted by some newspaper cushioning. What follows are the rest of the contents, minus a picture of some plastic bags.
Crunchy Indonesian snacks!
Some tea!
Awesome! I’ve tried Dua Belibis and really like it – can’t wait to try this one!
A little banged up in transit, but really not so bad! Never even heard of this brand before.
I’ve had lots of MAMA brand products, but never seen Papa! But what is Kua Chap? Wikipedia says:
Kuay chap / kway chap (Chinese: 粿汁; pinyin: guǒ zhī), a Teochew dish of flat, broad rice sheets in a soup made with dark soy sauce, served with pig offal, braised duck meat, various kinds of beancurd, preserved salted vegetables, and braised hard-boiled eggs.
Wow – this sounds different – will have to look up pig offal as well as Teochow.
As it turns out, these are varieties by Indofood.
Oh wow – I have been wanting to try this for a while now. They sent a five pack of it! Supposed to be spicy – as well as green!
Healthy noodles! Tropicana Slim – sounds like a character from an old movie!
Seasoning packets for making Indonesian dishes.
Rice noodle soups!
Never heard of this brand either – just amazing how many I’ve reviewed and all the brands I’ve never tried still.
Yay! Multiples of ten!
Tried this brand once before – good stuff!
More healthy noodles!
Gaga brand noodles!
The last of it. Wow – can’t find any of these in the USA – what a trove of new things to try! Thank you!!!
