So this will be the first European Meet The Manufacturer! This is Baltix, a brand from Estonia. I had the luck to be able to conduct an interview with the Chairman Of The Board of Baltix, Erki Eismann! Here’s the interview.
THE RAMEN RATER> Thank you for agreeing to this interview! To start, can you tell my readers about the history of Baltix ?
BALTIX> Our company Worldline OU started in 1997 with import of raw materials, like rice and other grains. First we supplied different food industries and packaging companies. In 2003 we started packing of different groats.
TRR> What was the first product you made?
BALTIX> Our first main product was rice.
TRR> Your company is located in Estonia. Can you tell us a little about your country?
BALTIX> Logistically Estonia is situated in a very good place near Scandinavia and surrounded by sea. We have good neighbours: Finland in the north, Latvia in the south, Sweden in the west and Russia in the east. Estonia is part of the European Union and our currency is the Euro.
TRR> Can you tell us about the varieties of noodles you make?
BALTIX> We have the following varieties: Chicken, Beef, Vegetables and Mushroom noodles.
TRR> Why the name ‘Baltix?’
BALTIX> We chose the name Baltix, because our brand is from Baltic country and there are 3 different languages spoken in these countries. Baltix is a good brand name, which can be used and is acceptable in all Baltic countries.
TRR> In what countries are your products available?
BALTIX> At the moment our products are sold in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and in Finland.
TRR> How does your noodle making process differ from other instant noodle manufacturers?
BALTIX> I cannot comment on this one, but it should be almost the same, only some ingredients may differ.
TRR> Are noodles the only products you make?
BALTIX> We produce muffins and sponge cakes as well.
TRR> A lot of people are concerned with their sodium intake. How would you recommend people enjoy your product as part of a healthy meal?
BALTIX> Yes, a lot of companies use sodium. We have added a small package with spices and everyone can just take as much as they need. We have a new Nature product line, it consists of all natural ingredients and no preservatives are added. It is an expensive product and customers do not buy it a lot.
TRR> Are you involved in in your local community or participate in charities?
BALTIX> We give our production residues for animal food and our company helps families in need.
TRR> Are there any new products coming soon?
BALTIX> There are new products coming soon: Noodles in cup and Mashed Potatoes in Cup
TRR> When you make noodles for yourself, what do you like to add to them to make them extra special?
BALTIX> No, we don’t add.
