The other day, I reviewed the pack version of this one and found it to be absolutely excellent. Today, I’m going to try the cup. I’m glad I had two different versions as I found something on Mamee’s page that I was really excited about.
So check this out (click image to enlarge). Sounds really good, doesn’t it? Pineapple curry? I was hoping maybe they could send a sample so I could include it in Meet The Manufacturer – never seen a variety that actually had pineapple in it! Well as it turns out, it was an April Fool’s Day joke from Mamee and I was fooled! But pineapple curry still sounded good. I decided I’d use it as an addition today. Let’s give this one a try!
Here are the side panels (click image to enlarge). Looks to be meat free but check for yourself. To prepare, add water to line as well as all sachet contents. Microwave for 3 minutes, astir, and enjoy!
Here’s detail from the lid (click image to enlarge).
Included fork!
The noodle block.
Powder seasoning base sachet.
Has a very nice curry scent.
Liquid base sachet.
As in the pack version, the liquid has a satin sheen to it.
The garnish sachet.
Bits of tofu puff, pepper and green onion.
Finished (click image to enlarge). Added tofu puffs, prawn flavor fish balls, pineapple chunks, sweet onion and BonCabe Level 10 chilli seasoning. The noodles came out excellent – pretty much identical to the packaged version. The broth and garnish as well were great – rich curry flavor and premium garnishes including little tofu puff bits and pepper. I can definitely say this is the best instant cup I’ve ever had. 5.0 out of 5.0 stars. As for pineapple in this one, it’s really great (not considered in review score). UPC bar code 9555022303307.
Here’s a video with people from Mamee Chef going to Disneyland! My wife’s got a relative who helped build Main Streeet at Disneyland back in the day and his name is on one of the windows! Pretty neat!
Thank goodness for Mamee Chef Curry noodles.
I took 2 three packs with me on my last backpacking trip to Turkey, Bulgaria and Romania.
It was emergency food which I could enjoy and reminded me of home, rather reminds me to go home!!! (Bulgarian and Romanian food is very basic. After all the kebabs and Turkish food, nothing beats Malaysian food.)
