To start things off, I’m sure you have all heard of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. What it is for those of you who haven’t, is a campaign to increase awareness of ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease), a motor neuron disease which causes the connections between the mind and muscles to degrade. The challenge involves a person having a ton of icewater dumped on them, and then nominating three people to do the same. Yesterday, my sister nominated me after she was nominated. Usually, you have 24 hours to accept and carry out the challenge. Today, I’m going to be getting a lot of icewater dumped on me! At the bottom of this review will be my sister’s challenge, and tomorrow’s review will feature me getting drenched! If you want to help, please consider donating to ALSA.org.
Today, I’m reviewing green curry! This sounds so good – I tried the local version a while back and it was pretty good! Let’s see how this one in a bigger size comes out!
Here’s the back of the package (click image to enlarge). Contains shrimp. To prepare, add everything from the package into a bowl. Add 400ml boiling water and cover for 3 minutes. stir and enjoy!
The noodle block.
The powder soup baser.
A lot of light powder with flecks.
The green curry liquid.
Now that smells really great!
Finished (click image to enlarge). Added shrimp, green nira, mung bean sprouts and coriander. The noodles are thin and plentiful with a good texture and chewiness. The broth has a really nice heat to it and more than I expected. The flavor is a very nice green curry. Excellent! 5.0 out of 5.0 stars.EAN bar code 8850987145049.
Here’s the local version.
My sister did it! Wow! Watch tomorrow to see me do it!
I have been eating the Mama Green Curry ramen for lunch 5 days a week for the last year. It’s by FAR the greatest flavor ever. There is a spicy tang instead of a salty base. It is more creamy. Mama jumbo noodles are great.
Wow you really like green curry! I totally hear you on that – and that’s one if I had to eat like that for a year I wouldn’t get tired of either.

Hans, this is always one of my favorite bowls. I forget just how much heat it has every time i make it, but it’s fabulous! Perfect for a cold rainy pennsylvania day 🙂
Hello, Where can I purchase mama chicken green curry in Canada?
T&T Supermarket carries it.
I love the green curry and coconut flavored broth. Not my favorite noodles, though. I’d prefer them a little more substantial. The spiciness level was perfect for somebody who likes it hot – enough to make the nose run and the eyes water, without having a major impact on the flavors present. I’ll buy these again if I can find them at a reasonable price.
just tried the Mama Green Curry flavor today. it’s green. it smells…interesting. it tastes WONDERFUL…but…it’s green. It’s like Dr. Seuss meets yan can cook. the heat is a pleasant surprise as well, not the same kind of heat you get from red chilis like the Nongshim Gourmet Spicy ramyun…this heat is more like white pepper without the nasal burn. it will make your nose run though. I thoroughly enjoyed this flavor and will buy it again.
