There have been quite a few of these Baixiang varieties. Well, this looks to be the last one I have – I’m sure I’ll find more. Let’s check it out!
Here’s the back of the package (click image to enlarge). Looks to be meat free but check for yourself. To prepare, add all contents to 500ml boiling water and cook 2-3 minutes. Enjoy!
The noodle block.
Powder soup base sachet.
Powder has a smoky and sour scent, much like tamarind.
A liquid sachet.
Black vinegar.
A paste sachet.
Thick and chunky.
Finished (click image to enlarge). Added broccoli, red and orange bell pepper, white onion, spring onion and pork. The noodles have a slightly broad and flat character to them. The have a good backbone and a chew that is enjoyable. The broth has a strong sour taste, most like likely from tamarind. It also has a spicy component. Everything cooperates well and tastes good. 3.75 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar 886727003322.
