Another one from Colin – thanks again! I believe he picked these up at an Asian grocery in Mexico. What’s neat about these is that I’ve reviewed a lot of Wai Wai, but never any that are from India. Chicken and shrimp! Let’s get to it!
Detail of the back of the package (click to enlarge). Looks to be meat free but check for yourself. To prepare, add package contents to a bowl and add 1 1/2 cups boiling water. cover for 2 minutes. Stir and enjoy!
The noodle block.
A dual sachet: powder and oil seasonings.
The powder…
…and the oil.
A sachet of chilli powder.
Decent amount.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added Salad Cosmo mung bean sprouts, large shrimp and coriander. The noodles were a nice surprise – very thick and had a nice chew to them. The broth however was kind of drab and ho-hum with a light spiciness and decent flavor but just not making me jump off my seat. 2.5 out of 5.0 stars. EAN bar code 890174000019.
Delicious Journey. Cuisine of Goa State. India.
A Wai Wai TV commercial for an area in northeastern India called Nagaland.
These actually came from a little Indian grocery in central square, in Cambridge, MA. Not as exotic, I guess
Exotic enough – never reviewed any of the Chaudhary’s Wai Wai stuff – always the Thai ones… Not super rad noodles but interesting – thanks again!
