Here’s one from the April offering of Box From Japan! This looks like one big bowl of tonkotsu! Let’s have a look inside! By the way – Box From Japan is a really great way to get some instant noodles you probably haven’t ever tried before, nor in a million years wouldn’t have access to here in the USA. With that, let’s crack this bog one open!
Detail of the side panels (click to enlarge). Probably contains fish and pork. To prepare, add in everything but liquid sachet. Fill to line and steep for 3 minutes. Add in liquid sachet contents. Stir and enjoy!
Detail of the lid (click to enlarge).
The noodle block.
The powder base sachet.
A fluffy powder.
A sachet of vegetables.
Quiet the mixture!
The liquid sachet.
Has a nice garlic scent.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added spring onion, Salad Cosmo mung bean sprouts, kizami shoga and chashu pork. The noodles are definitely high in quantity, although seemed a little more dough-y than I would have liked. The broth is a nice tonkotsu – good thickness and flavor to it. A slight bit on the salty side however which detracted a little from it’s richness. The supplied vegetables hydrated well. 3.75 out of 5.0 stars. JAN bar code 4901071237202.
