Tonkotsu is probably my favorite traditional ramen flavor. This and creamy broth with pork. Can’t beat it. Well, it’s now available from Maruchan in the USA in this bowl form! Let’s see how it fares!
Detail of the side panels (click to enlarge). Contains meat. To prepare, add in sachet #1 and room temperature water to the fill line. Microwave at 1000 watts for 3 minutes (if you have a microwave with different wattage, use this tool to convert the cooking time). Add in contents of sachet #2. Stir and enjoy!

The noodle block.
The first of two sachets.
Vegetables.
Sachet number two.
Lots of fluffy powder.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added Salad Cosmo mung bean sprouts, spring onion, chashu pork and chilli flake. The noodles are thin and flat with a very light chew to them. The sheer amount of noodles is pretty amazing! The broth is definitely tonkotsu, but I feel it doesn’t have the right… Something. Instead of a milky and rich pork taste, I get a more salty and chicken flavor. It is thicker than most instants here in the USA that’s for certain. The vegetables hydrated very well. 3.5 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 041789003516.
