Well, this is it. Right now, I’m listening to the inauguration of Donald J. Trump. It’s January 20th, 2017 and kind of a weird day. I thought it would be fitting to review something from the United States today. Finally, after decades of sticking with the same recipe, Nissin has decided to go with something new. On Cup Noodles’ 45th anniversary here in the USA, they’ve changed it to make it healthier. Some changes are no added MSG and no artificial flavors. Furthermore they’ve lowered the amount of sodium in these cups from the previous versions using potassium chloride. So, let’s give this Hot & Spicy Shrimp a try!
Nissin Cup Noodles Hot & Spicy Shrimp Flavor Ramen Noodle Soup (New Recipe) – United States

Some of the loose ingredients. In spite of being a shrimp variety, I couldn’t find any shrimp. Perhaps they are hiding out in the noodle block.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added Salad Cosmo mung bean sprouts, shrimp and Cholula Original hot sauce. The noodles are of the standard Cup Noodles gauge and softness that are found in the domestic United States varieties. A good quantity as well. The broth had a hint of spiciness and a shrimp taste. What was a letdown here was that there were no shrimp. Zero. Zilch. Nada. I’m guessing maybe they just missed this cup or they don’t put the little shrimp in these. 2.5 out of 5.0 stars. Are all your reviews two months behind or just certain ones? For older products, I understand delaying posting the review for when you don’t have a new product to review, but for new (or reformulated) products it seems like you would want your reviews to come out ASAP.
Also, it’s weird reading your references to things that happened two months ago as if you were just now experiencing them.
You know I love your site, but I just wanted to point out one way I feel it could be even better.

Yeah I’m around 70 reviews ahead currently. I pared it down from over 90 in the last couple of weeks. As far as re-ordering, that’s a real pain and then older reviews will get even further old before they’re released.
