Okay first off, this isn’t a noodle review and I know, I know… But this one looks exactly like the other ones they sell that are noodles. FF (Fashion Foods) has these little bowls with lids everywhere, and usually they’re either a wheat instant noodle or instant vermicelli. I looked at it, didn’t recognize it, and popped it in my basket thinking I’ve just found a rice noodle version of their stuff I hadn’t tried previously. Well, this is a broth with rice. I only realized this until I had done the picture of the side panels.
Pictures of the side panels… They a lot of the time are what take the most time of reviews. Indeed, these bowls are the absolutely hardest ones to do! The plastic wrap is shrink wrap and so I could try cutting it off and scanning it, but that’s not going to work; too crinkly. So, I have to resort to my old method: rotate and take a picture. I do this until I get all around the bowl and then hand crop and stitch and clone stamp them into something hopefully presentable. Well, let’s make some rice soup.
Fashion Food Yummy Spicy Rice Soup With Seafood – Thailand
Detail of the side panels (click to enlarge). Contains seafood. To prepare, add everything to the bowl and add 350ml water. Microwave uncovered for 4 minutes at 800W (if your microwave has a ‘power level,’ try setting it at 8). Finally, stir and enjoy!
The rice sachet.
Instant rice.
A dry base sachet.
Smells kinda spicy.
Some solid ingredients.
Bits of onion and other things. So the straight pieces are dehydrated crab stick – imitation crab.
A liquid sachet.
A paste.
As you can see, it’s rice. Indeed the grains are extra short – rice is cooked then dehydrated to make it quickly hydrated again.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added nothing. So the rice hydrated pretty well. Indeed there’s a decent amount of it as well. Indeed the broth has a spicy flavor, as well as a seafood taste. Moreover, there are lots of bits of seafood going on in here. 3.5 out of 5.0 stars. EAN bar code 8850412374334.
