Here’s one left over from the Meet The Manufacturer I did with Nissin Mexico a little while ago. These are very cool – they have little packets of hot sauce in them! Indeed, I think these should be available in the United States as well. I think they’d do really well! Indeed, who wouldn’t like the Cup Noodles here to come with a little packet of hot sauce? I know I would.
I think that in all honesty that Cup Noodles are a fascinating thing. They make them all over the world for so many different consumers. The ones in Thailand, the ones in Mexico and the ones in Japan are so completely different. They’re versatile and amazing to me. The Cup Noodle made it’s debut in 1971 and I couldn’t even guess globally how many different versions have come to market – in the hundreds if not thousands just from Nissin alone. Well, I think it’s time to review this one. Indeed, let’s crack it open!

The iconic cup in all of it’s glory.

The noodle block.
Loose bits from the cup.
The sachet of hot sauce (click to enlarge).
Has a spicy and bright scent.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added 31-40ct shrimp and coriander. The noodles hydrate decently and have a very light chew. Still surprises me how much noodle you end up with in a little cup. The broth has a kind of shrimp taste which is made much better with the hot sauce; it give it a crisp little hit of spicy and fresh taste. The included vegetables did alright. 3.5 out of 5.0 stars.
