These came by Way of my sister Sue – thanks! She found them up in Canada – I believe at PriceSmart Foods in Richmond, BC. Been a couple of years since I made the trip north in search of instant noodles for my birthday. The way I look at it, I have to lay off Canada for a little while to let the big stores up there percolate; then they’ll have new stuff I’ve not tried. Well, hopefully. Last time I found a lot of the same stuff from the time before.
From the packaging, it looks like this will be an Indian curry. Mild though – that could mean that it is indeed more of a Japanese curry. But I dunno – I think it’s time to figure it out by giving them a try.
Tokyo Noodle Mini Instant Noodle Mild Curry Flavor – Japan
Here’s an import/distributor’s sticker (click to enlarge). So here you can see the ingredients and nutritional info.
Here’s the back of the package (click to enlarge). Mentions ‘meat tasted powder’ so unsure whether it contains meat or not – check for yourself. To prepare, add a block of noodles to a mug and add 20ml boiling water. Let steep 3 minutes. Finally, stir and enjoy!
You get four of these little packs in a bag.
The noodle block. So it’s has seasoning in it- no sachets with this one. Indeed, all of the Tokyo Noodle varieties are like this.
Finished (click to enlarge). The noodles are thin and flat as expected. They have a very soft chew as well which is nice. The broth is very watery though; this works in the chicken variety, but the curry seems kind of unintelligible. I don’t get that kind of Indian curry as depicted on the package by the Indian guy from South Park. Nevertheless, it is nice to sip from the cup; nice and warm. 2.0 out of 5.0 stars.
