Colin from Massachusetts was kind enough to shoot this one my way! Thanks again! So Gomtang is a flavor I really like -it’s kind of like a creamy beef soup broth. What’s kind of funny is that I’ve only sampled Gomtang made by Paldo. I know there are other brands making it in South Korea, yet I’ve never found any here. Let’s look up[ Gomtang on Wikipedia:
Gomguk (곰국),[1] gomtang[2] (곰탕), or beef bone soup[2] refers to a soup in Korean cuisine made with various beef parts such as ribs, oxtail, brisket, ox’s head or ox bones by slow simmering on a low flame.[3] The broth of gomguk tends to have a milky color with a rich and hearty taste.[4]
Alright – let’s check this one by Paldo out and see how it rates.
Paldo Premium Gomtang – South Korea
Here’s the back of the package (click to enlarge). Contains Australian beef bone extract. To prepare, add noodles and sachet contents to 550ml boiling water and cook for 3 minutes. Finally, stir and enjoy!
The noodle block.
The soup base sachet.
A thick liquid base.
The vegetables sachet.
Green onion.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added beef and spring onion. The noodles have a soft tooth to them. This is really nice since the broth is like a warm beef hug. Not the slightest iota spicy, the broth has a warm comforty kind of body to it that works so well with the soft noodle. 4.0 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 648436101245.
