I’ve been waiting to get my hands on this one for a while and thanks to Jay H. for sending it my way from Taiwan, I’ve got one! These are from South Korea, but they’re very popular in Southeast Asia currently and very curious as to why.
I’ve never heard of Gookmul before – I perused their site and it looks like Gookmul makes some interesting varieties. One of them has a picture of a mouth on the package and you could put the package up to your face as kind of a mask which is interesting. Anyways, let’s see why this Gookmul lobster variety is so popular!
Gookmul Special Edition Lobster Flavor Potato Instant Noodles – South Korea
Here’s the back of the package (click to enlarge). Guessing it contains seafood. To prepare, add noodles and sachet contents to 550ml boiling water and cook for 3 minutes. Finally, stir and enjoy!
The noodle block.
Two sachets joined by a perforation.
A powder base.
A vegetable base with bits of lobster?
Finished (click to enlarge). I’ve aways liked potato noodles; they have a very nice feel to them and these are no exception. The broth really tastes like a standard ramyun broth – definitely not so beefy, but really not detecting a huge massive amazing thing here that others might be. The garnish of vegetables and the rubber lobster seems a little intrusive. 3.5 out of 5.0 stars. EAN bar code 8809353080347>.
