Found this one at the Jason’s Market grocery store in the bottom of the Taipei 101. I thought it looked interesting; first, it’s from Thailand. Second, it’s bean thread. I haven’t reviewed anything with beat thread in a very, very long time!
Of course, another neat thing about this one is the brand. I’ve never reviewed anything by Kaset brand – nor had I heard of them before seeing this one. It kind of boggles my mind; after so many reviews that there are still companies out there I’ve not even heard of. Makes me feel secure that there will be noodles for the next million years to review! Let’s check out this one from Kaset.

Finished (click to enlarge). Holy cow – okay so the bean thread came out just fine – transparent and glassy with a light chew. The flavor was a one two punch of heat and lemongrass along with nice seafood notes. The included garnish had vegetable and seafood bits and it was great. This was a very small portion, however, the sheer strength of flavor here makes it not one that you would scarf down and move on. A slow nosh full of flavor. 3.75 out of 5.0 stars.
