I found this one at RT Mart in Taipei., Taiwan. Okay so RT Mart. It’s big – I mean big. The aisle with instant noodles was probably the largest I’ve seen to date not only lengthwise, but height as well.
They way they have it there is a row of the 5 packs and then a row of individuals then a row of 5 packs. It’s pretty logical actually. One thing that’s tough is seeing all these neat new varieties but they’re all in 5 packs and I only want one of them.
This one looked pretty cool – I mean, it’s just chicken, but it’s chicken with a little chicken on it. Alright – let’s check out this one.
Wei Lih Chicken Flavor – Taiwan
Here’s the back of the package (click to enlarge). Unsure, but I’m guessing it contains chicken. To prepare, add noodle block to 400ml boiling water and cook 3 minutes. Add in sachet contents. Finally, stir and enjoy!
The noodle block.
The seasoning base.
Powder and veg.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added baked chicken, hard boiled egg, spring onion and Salad Cosmo mung bean sprouts. The noodles are very nice – soft and loose with a slightly flatter shape. The broth has a nice kind of sesame chicken taste to it which I found very good and reminiscent of the first instant noodles. Basic, unassuming and comfortable. 4.0 out of 5.0 stars.
