Today we have a Zenpop.JP variety – so what’s Zenpop? They’re a subscription service for all things Japanese! Definitely, check them out. By the way, use coupon code RAMENRATER to get $2 off! Here’s what they had to say about this one – ‘Yakisoba noodles seasoned with Aurora (French for sunrise) sauce. The pinkish sauce with the fancy name is basically a mixture of ketchup and mayonnaise, which are both favorite for the Japanese. It’s unique but addictive!’ Sounds interesting – let’s crack it open and have a look!

The noodle block.
Loose bits from the tray.
A liquid sachet.
A tomato scented sauce.
A dry base sachet.
Looks like some form of togarashi or other.
Mayonnaise!
Finished (click to enlarge). Added Salad Cosmo mung bean sprouts, spring onion and white onion. The noodles were great – just what I expect from the Ippei-chan series. The flavor… Well, it’s definitely smacking of mayonnaise and ketchup, what we call here in the United States as fry sauce. Just doesn’t seem right. I could see it with yakitori perhaps, sure – but with noodles it just seems wrong to me somehow. I will give it this – it’s unique. Maybe I’m just too much of an adherent to the classic yakisoba. 2.75 out of 5.0 stars. JAN bar code 4902881436557.
