Wait… What? Yep. I saw an article on one of my news feeds mentioning this odd sounding concoction a week or so ago. Turns out it’s in Richmond, BC – a place we go all the time just over the Canadian border! So Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there – this beer ramen’s for you!
Beer Ramen – Yuu Japanese Tapas – Richmond, BC – Canada
Not going to do a full review today, but wanted to get this out there as soon as possible. I don’t know how long this will be an item at this new restaurant but definitely interesting! So you get your beer ramen – and no, it does NOT contain beer – that would just be wrong. This is more for visual effect. A bonito broth with nice chewy noodles and an egg-white top to simulate a heady foam. You get either vegetable tempura with it or for a buck more, their fried chicken. I will say that was some of the best pieces of boneless fried chicken I’ve had in a while – nice coating and crispness while very juicy. A small tray or garnish for ramen alongside fits well. But yeah beer ramen!? Their menu is just awesome – lots of really amazing drinks, good looking ramen and noodle dishes and tapas. A big thanks to my wife Kit – she’s not one who likes to be on camera so she was a good sport and to my kids. Today is Father’s Day and I’m really stoked about my children. They’re really neat people – with their own distinct personality. They make me laugh all the time. I love my family very much and proud to be a dad.
