#10: CarJEN Hot & Spicy Dry Curry With Chives Soup – Malaysia

spiciest instant noodles #10: CarJEN Hot & Spicy Dry Curry With Chives Soup – Malaysia

This is one not only spicy but unique. Not only does it have a brothless noodle, it has a sachet you mix with boiling water to make a soup that is served alongside. Indeed I’ve seen this done multiple times in Taiwanese variants but never from Malaysia – good show! Original review

#9: Taihodien Restaurant Supreme Spicy Noodle – Taiwan

spiciest instant noodles #9: Taihodien Restaurant Supreme Spicy Noodle - Taiwan

A broth free noodle meats a fiery heat. Taihodien is known for it’s ultra spicy hot pot. These noodles are slathered in an extremely spicy Sichuan Peppercorn laced sauce that’s sure to fire things up for you! Finally, it’s a truly a different experience. Original review

#8: Samyang Foods Mala Buldak Bokkeummyun – South Korea

spiciest instant noodles #8: Samyang Foods Mala Buldak Bokkeummyun – South Korea

The newest variety of the Buldak Bokkeummyun series, this one features Sichuan pepper. It provides a kind of buzzing, numbing effect which is different. Finally, lots of good garnish such as well sized mushroom pieces in here. Original review

#7: Paldo Teumsae Ramyun – South Korea

spiciest instant noodles #7: Paldo Teumsae Ramyun – South Korea

On the list for four years now! Another South Korean ramyun with serious kick to it. This isn’t to be trifled with!  Teumsae has restaurants in South Korea which serve up some seriously spicy fare. I really like the text underneath the word Teumsae which reads, ‘Flavor. Culture. Human’ Original review

#6: Paldo Bulnak Bokkummyun Spicy Fried Octopus Ramyun – South Korea

spiciest instant noodles #6: Paldo Bulnak Bokkummyun Spicy Fried Octopus Ramyun – South Korea

After many, many people complaining that I had the order hot and that this should be behind the #3, I decided to give it another try. You were right – totally concede that. However, this is definitely a fiery hot plate of noodles with a nice flavor. Original review

#5: Paldo Volcano Curry Kkokkomyun – South Korea

spiciest instant noodles #5: Paldo Volcano Curry Kkokkomyun - South Korea

Hot, fiery and tasty! A little bit of sweetness and little kind of curry flavor going on here. At least, I think it’s a bit of curry flavor – kind of different. Indeed, it packs strong heat and good flavor pair and bring it in this variety. Original review

#4: Liangchengmei 30S” Hot Bird Noodle – China

spiciest instant noodles #4: Liangchengmei 30S" Hot Bird Noodle - China

An angry chicken in a leather jacket – can’t go wrong here! Indeed, this one is very much like the popular Fire Noodle, except it includes a fresh noodle and only takes 30 seconds to cook. Kind of gimmicky, but pretty damn cool. Original review

#3: Samyang Foods Buldak Bokkeummyeon – South Korea

spiciest instant noodles #3: Samyang Foods Buldak Bokkeummyeon – South Korea

The bowl version of this is what is commonly used in the Fire Noodle Challenge. This stuff will really clean your clock – the initial taste is very sweet and savory and then bam. Indeed a crescendo of flame hits you palate like sucking on a charcoal briquet. Original review

#2: Samyang Foods 2x Spicy Hek Buldak Bokkeummyun – South Korea

spiciest instant noodles #2: Samyang Foods 2x Spicy Hek Buldak Bokkeummyun – South Korea

There is no doubt in my mind that there’s nothing hotter than this one out there – as far as they go, this is the spiciest of the spiciest – at least that I’ve tried. That’s what I said last year. This is a real burner and definitely takes my breath away. Therefore, I would say that if you aren’t comfortable with spicy foods, this will grab you, throw you on the ground and have it’s way with you. Consider this a warning in big red capital letters!! The heat will linger long after the plate is clean – if you can get that far! Original review

#1: Isoyama Shoji 18禁カレーラーメン (Age 18 Prohibited/Restricted/Only La-Men Curry Taste) – Japan

spiciest instant noodles #1: Isoyama Shoji 18禁カレーラーメン (Age 18 Restricted La-Men Curry Taste) - Japan

I was kind of taken aback at the sheer amount of water required for this one – 700ml is a lot. However, the noodle block accommodated and we see here a lot of plump noodles. They didn’t come out poorly either – they’re pretty decent.

Now for the broth. I had a bit of the noodle, then some broth and after about ten seconds, I felt this pain in my gut; like the ‘I’m either going to vomit or s*** my pants’ kind of gut pain.

After the rematch (yeah – I gave it a second go), I have come to a conclusion. This is the spiciest instant noodle I’ve ever had. It burned bad, twisted my gut up, laid waste to my soul. It makes every spicy variety I’ve had thus far taste like sugar water. Finally, I think it tastes horrible. Original review
