Here’s one of the six varieties sent by a Taiwanese university student. She asked if I could review a specific set of varieties as special research for her master’s thesis and I said absolutely. I’m not sure about this variety – insofar what Dynasty Beef is. I did some looking, but it seems that the word dynasty kind of takes precedent in search results and so that’s not very helpful. Anyways, let’s have a look at this fancy one from Taiwan.
Vedan Wei Wei Premium Dynasty Beef Tendon Instant Noodle – Taiwan
Here’s the back of the package (click to enlarge). Contains beef. To prepare, add everything but the large retort pouch to 500ml boiling water and cook 3 minutes. Add in retort pouch contents. Finally, stir and enjoy!
The noodle block.
A dry sachet.
A light powder.
A liquid base sachet.
A thick paste.
A large retort pouch.
Lots of meat!
Finished (click to enlarge). Added scallions. The noodles were thin and light – not much chew but a bountiful quantity. While cooking, I definitely noted a strong cumin scent. The broth wasn’t too bland in this one before adding the retort pouch. As for the meat, it was of good quality, however lots of tendon isn’t really my thing. The tendon was extremely tender though and the beef that was present very nice and not dry at all. Impressed. 5.0 out of 5.0 stars. EAN bar code 4710110231763.
