Here’s one of the very last varieties I found in Taiwan during my last visit in November, 2017. Big thanks to Kyle K. for help translating this one! So braised meats from Taiwan are some of the most amazing flavors – anywhere. I’m telling you – find a Taiwanese restaurant and get some braised pork – it’ll blow your freaking mind. Alright – let’s crack this bowl open and get this going.
Vedan Wei Wei Premium Braised Pork Noodle – Taiwan
Detail of the lid (click to enlarge). Contains pork. To prepare, add in sachets and not retort pouch. Add 500ml boiling water and cover for 3 minutes with pouch on top. Add in retort pouch contents. Finally, stir and enjoy!

Finished (click to enlarge). Added scallions. The noodles were quite good – nice gauge and chew – no sponginess here. The broth has a great braised pork flavor – notes of star anise and other herbs popping out here and there. Included braised pork was sumtuous and good – excellent quality. 5.0 out of 5.0 stars.
