I was perusing the aisle at 99 Ranch Market the other day and saw this hiding towards the bottom shelf. What the heck is this? Well, they’re noodles made from potatoes and green beans with a tonkotsu broth. Not only that, there are three servings and they’re 100 calories each. Sounds like fun – let’s give em a try!
Hikari Miso Harusame Noodle Soup Tonkotsu Taste – Japan
Detail of the packaging (click to enlarge). Looks to be meat free but check for yourself. T o prepare, add one package of noodle and one sachet of seasoning to a bowl. Add 180ml boiling water and let siit 3 minutes. Finally, stir and enjoy!
The three individual noodle servings.
Three sachets of soup base.
Finished (click to enlarge). While preferable to a kick in the groin, this one doesn’t really put me in a good place either. The thread is just awful. The broth is less tonkotsu and more clam chowder, which I did find interesting. The included vegetable bits were great – but the whole harangue together was like a political protest at a quilt club meeting involving lemon bars and catty infighting. Sorry, no. 0.0 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 858764000541.
