Here’s one from the trove of varieties sent by James from California – thanks again! I swear I had tried this but nope – never had. Let’s check it out!
Itomen Sansai Udon – Japan
Detail of the side panels (click to enlarge). Containsd fish. To prepare, add in sachet contents and boiling water to line. Cover for 3 minutes. Finally, stir and enjoy!
Detail of the lid (click to enlarge).
The noodle block.
A dry powder base sachet.
Lots of bits here.
A small sachet of shichimi.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added egg, shichimi, Salad Cosmo mung bean sprouts, spring onion, and chili oil. Noodles were indeed a little wider however that was about all. Broth was definitely seasoned with bonito, but less extreme than many I’ve had which was a plus. Included garnish was of so-so quality. Included shichimi was nice, however not enough of it. 3.0 out of 5.0 stars. JAN bar code 4901104305052.
