Here’s one fro Jame in Lakeside, CA – thanks again! This is an interesting one – oatmeal soup? Hmm!
Today’s a Friday – March 20th. Been a long week – I know it’ll be about a hundred days until this review posts. It’s about 4am right now. I have a feeling that by Monday, Washington State will be in lockdown due to the coronavirus. Kinda freaky! My mother broke her femur, and being elderly, she’s in a rehab in lockdown – which has been pretty rough on our family. I was hoping to visit her on my birthday when I was in town, but of course that was the first day that the lockdown for nursing homes/rehabs went into effect. Ugh.
The whole world has gone kind of crazy. But it’s Friday. There is a little light at the end of the tunnel, hopefully. If we do go on lockdown, they’re talking about giving adults $1200 each and kids $500 each, so for our little family that’s a lot of money. So, even though we won’t really be able to go anywhere, a month of lockdown could be kind of nice, actually. I’ve got more than enough noodles, that’s for sure!
I thought I’d take this opportunity as it’s a unique one – I get to speak to the future. It’s been a crazy world lately and I hope things have cooled down a bit. A hundred days ago the world seemed like a completely different place. A hundred days from now, maybe things will be a little better.

Looks like noodles to me.
A wet sachet of soup base.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added Salad Cosmo mung bean sprouts, spring onion, kizami nori, and Huy Fong sriracha sauce. The oatmeal and vermicelli combo is definitely interesting. What’s more, is initially it’s got a more watery broth, but a couple minutes later the oatmeal and noodle really suck it up, so it becomes almost more like a congee. The flavor is kind of a chicken I suppose – very sweet too which was nice in it’s unique way. 3.75 out of 5.0 stars. EAN bar code 810698590161.
