First things first – thanks to James of Lakeside, CA for sending this one! Alright, so no, this is not produced in the United States, but it’s definitely produced for the United States. It sounds interesting, honestly – miso rice noodles. I don’t know that I’ve seen miso rice noodles before however I could be wrong. Let’s see what we have.
Snapdragon Miso Rice Ramen – United States
Detail of the box panels (click to enlarge). Contains fish and shrimp. To prepare, add in noodles and sachet contents. Fill to line with boiling water and cover 3~5 minutes. Finally, stir and enjoy!
The noodle block.
A wet soup base sachet.
A dry garnish sachet.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added corn, butter, chashu, egg, Salad Cosmo mung bean sprouts, spring onion, and sesame seed. The rice noodles just didn’t come across as ‘ramen’ at all. It was just a way to let Westerners understand that this was a miso themed noodl bowl – which makes sense; I get it. The noodles are decent and played well with the broth. I will say this was the happiest miso I’ve had – very mild and salty. Authentic? Perhaps to itself, but tasty it is nonetheless. 3.5 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 815055010085.
