Here’s yet another one sent by James from Lakeside, California – thanks! Man, I’m beat – woke up at 12:30am. I have one night every once in a while that I end up starting my day exceedingly early. I know I’ll sleep really well tonight. It’s funny too as I’ll be hanging out with the kids in the morning and nod off. They run up to me and yell ‘Papa! Wake up! Wake up!’ I think that’s going to be going on this morning… Luckily, my kids are cute and awesome… Today my plan is to go get a ton of steps in. Starting at 3:30am. Let’s get this done.
Sokensha Shio Ramen – Japan
Detail of the packaging (click to enlarge). Unsure whether it contains meat – check for yourself. To prepare, boil noodles in 500ml water for 3 minutes. Add in sachet contents. Finally, stir and enjoy!
The noodle block.
A dry sachet of soup base.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added narutomaki, baked chicken, egg, Lao Gan Ma Spicy Chilli Crisp, sesame seed, spring onion, Salad Cosmo mung bean sprouts, and shichimi. The noodles have this nice feel to them which pushes the envelope of fried and seems more non-fried, but I think they are indeed fried. The broth has a nice saltiness and a combo of scallop and vegetable tastes that weave a nice tight little story which is unique and flavorful. 4.0 out of 5.0 stars. JAN bar code 4901735018086.
