Two things about this one. First, this was got on our last trip to Canada which seems like forever ago. We used to visit the wonder of the north about once a month but now the borders are shut tight. Plus, this was one of the very few varieties I got up there that the border agents didn’t confiscate. They confiscated varieties that are now even sold here so that was kind of silly but oh well.
The other thing is I’ve always wanted to try every variety from Doll brand of Hong Kong. I’ve tried contacting them to no avail though… Hopefully some day there will be a Meet The Manufacturer series. Anyways, these sound good – let’s give ’em a try!
Doll Fried Noodle Chili Sauce Flavour – Hong Kong
Detail of the bottom of the packaging (click to enlarge). Looks to be meat free but check for yourself. To prepare, add boiling water and garnish sachet contents. Cover for 3 minutes. Drain. Add in remaining ingredients. Finally, stir and enjoy!
Detail of the inner lid (click to enlarge).
The noodle block.
A dual sachet – squishy sachets of sauce.
Finally, a dry sachet of garnish.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added Salad Cosmo Organic mung bean sprouts, spring onion, chili oil, and shichimi. Noodles are thin and of a decent enough quality. The flavor is pretty good – a nice oiliness and a different kind of flavor than I expected. Different, but good – and spicy! 3.5 out of 5.0 stars. EAN bar code 4892333101464.
