In 1971, Nissin Japan released the first Cup Noodle product. Cup Noodle in Japan has always been a lot different from the one here; lots of garnish. I mean a lot. This one is a version of the original cup you’ll find in Japan today with I’m guessing some slight tweaking. They recently released their Curry and Seafood Cup Noodle version here as well. Let’s check it out!

Finished (click to enlarge). Noodles hydrated well using the steeping method. I really liked this one – the broth imparts a sesame shoyu kind of thing. Tasty shrimp and other bits are ubiquitous and of good quality. It is easy to see why this variety has stood the test of time, and the US arm of Nissin decided to make it available here. 5.0 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 07066240203.
