This one is served cold and goes very well with egg, tomato and cucumber! Cold noodles are popular in the summer – hence I’ve been doing quite a few lately (this is posting 100 days or so after I reviewed it so use your time machine). Let’s give it a try!
Kenko Foods Hiyashi Chuka – Japan
Detail of the packaging (click to enlarge). Unsure whether it contains meat – check for yourself. To prepare, boil noodles for 4 minutes then drain and rinse with cold water. Add in sachet contents. Finally, stir and enjoy!
Thin and tight little noodles.
A wet sachet of sauce.
A dry sachet – sesame seeds I think.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added tomato, cucumber, sesame seed, Salad Cosmo mung bean sprouts, ham, and egg. The noodles were nice and thin. Like most others, chilling them adds a strong chewy factor. The flavor was pretty good – I especially liked the garnish sachet which had sesame seed and a kind of shichimi and seaweed powder which went nicely. 3.5 out of 5.0 stars. JAN bar code 4973044020104.
