Here’s one sent by reader Cian from Dublin – thanks! This is the first Irish instant noodle I’ll be reviewing and although Cian told me these aren’t exactly great, I’m stoked since to me, they’re new. Let’s try the first curry noodles I’ve ever seen in sky blue packaging. Let’s do it.
Newgate Express Instant Noodles Curry Flavour – Ireland
Detail of the packaging (click to enlarge). Mentions it’s Vegan but check for yourself. To prepare, (and this is kind of confusing) add sachet contents to 300ml boiling water and then add in noodles. Gently cook for 3 minutes and DO NOT ALLOW TO BOIL (?) Finally, stir and enjoy!
The noodle block.
A dry sachet of soup base.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added marinated egg, baked chicken, mung bean sprouts, spring onion, pepper flake, and sesame seed. The noodles were mushy – downright mushy. It was kind of weird and just kind of off-putting. The broth was more of a sauce, which is fine, but the little flavor it had was more of an after thought. Just not really viable. 1.75 out of 5.0 stars. EAN bar code 20913687.
