Here’s one that was sent in by reader James from Lakeside, CA! Thanks! He’s sent quite a few neat varieties over the past year and this follows suit. It contains a retort pouch, kind of the high bar when it comes to instants as it’s like a flexible can with fish or meat in there which makes everything better. This one’s got crab – let give it a try!
Vifon Asian Style Instant Noodles With Crab Paste – Vietnam
Detail of the side panels (click to enlarge). Contains crab. To prepare, add everything except the big silver pack in and add boiling water to fill line. Cover for 3 minutes and set silver pack on top. Open lid and stir and add in silver pack contents. Finally, stir and enjoy!
Detail of the lid (click to enlarge).
A dry sachet of soup base powder.
A dry sachet of some sort of garnish.
A dry sachet of vegetables.
A large silver retort pouch full of solid and liquid contents.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added mung bean sprouts, coriander, pepper flake, and sesame seed. The noodles were alright – a little on the crumbly side, but that’s kind of the style of Vietnamese noodles more often than not. The broth did impart a rich crab flavor, further augmented by the retort pouch’s bountiful crab. If you like crab, this will fit the bill. 4.25 out of 5.0 stars. EAN bar code 851683005390.
