#10: Mr. Meng Tomato Egg Instant Noodles
This is a new style of large cup I’ve coined as ‘flower pot.’ Noodles hydrated very nicely – soft with a chewy vein in the center. Broth has a very flavorful tomato taste to it and a light oiliness. It does impart a good heartiness, and the included egg bits really add something special. Original review
#9: Double Mountain Xiamen Instant Noodles Satay Flavor
The noodles are very good – gauge and mouthfeel are great. The broth has a very tasty satay flavor which works extremely well. Very impressed and would love to try more from this range. Original review
#8: Love To Share Xiangnian Daoxiao Noodles
The noodles are really quite good – very wide with a great chewiness. The flavor is a nice balance of mustard green, black vinegar, and Sichuan pepper sauce. A Westerner might see this akin to lasagna in consistency. I find it enthralling and unique. Original review
#7: Sichuan Baijia Chongqing Noodles Spicy Hot Flavor
The noodles are thin and flat with a medium width. They really work well here. The broth is a very spicy beef with a Sichuan pepper hit amongst others. There are sesame seeds throughout and the bits of vegetables in there were great. Original review
#6: JML Spicy King Spicy Chicken Instant Noodle
The noodles came out very nicely – lots of them and of good texture and chew. The broth has a great spiciness – still worthy of the top ten spicy list. Sichuan pepper for sure. Nice color and oiliness in the broth as well. Original review here
#5: Sichuan Baijia Chongqing Noodles Burning Dry Noodles
I mean wow! I wasn’t sure of what to expect here, but this is really great! The noodles are extremely plentiful and really soft and floppy. This is perfect as the seasonings and liquids combine with them very well. The flavor is like an almost beefy and tasty lasagna but with Sichuan pepper and other spices going on. Moreover, the more you eat, the spicier it gets – heat, upon heat, upon heat! The pain! I really expected this to probably be really salty and have a strong vinegar taste but I was completely mistaken. I love this. Original review
#4: Boys & Girls Steam Noodle Spicy Beef Flavor
The noodles came out soft and very nice. Gauge is unique and a good chew. The broth is very savory – the heat is from Sichuan pepper, however it’s not an overload. Little bits floating throughout. Original review
#3: Qi Shi Liu Ren Back To Henan’ Instant Noodle
This one was not at all what I expected when I picked it up at a store called Foodyworld up in Canada. The noodle is broad – like biang biang or belt noodle. The broth has a milky way about it – and it’s supposed to be lamb flavored! I guess that what the animal character on the lid is supposed to be. Whatever is going on here, I think Henan must have a seriously great food culture – these were quite good and if I see another from these folks, I’ll go back to them to try again. Original review
#2: Wugudaochang Tomato Beef Brisket Flavor Purple Potato Noodle
The noodles, made from purple potatoes have a nice texture to them – a little sturdier than your garden variety instant and they were very nice to chew. The broth is a thick beef and tomato affair, with a very luxuriant and rich texture to it – almost creamy in a way. The inclusion of large pieces of tomato and real beef brisket in there was admirable and very enjoyable. Premium bowl of noodles. Original review
#1: Liangchengmei Biang Biang Men
My wife Kit saw this while we were up in Canada and it piqued my curiosity so thought hey let’s give it a try. Noodles are very broad – over an inch. The flavoring is just superb – to use a word I normally don’t, this is yummy. What’s interesting too is that they included meat – at least I thought it was meat – it’s made from soy protein! Unique, delicious, and the highest a Chinese variety has achieved on The Ramen Rater’s Top Ten Instant Noodles Of All Time to date. Congratulations! Original review

People have been asking where to get a lot of varieties and so I’ve partnered with Exotic Noods to bring you The Ramen Rater Shop. Here you’ll find an expending variety of instant noodles at a pretty decent price. You’ll be able to try a wide array of varieties and not have to buy a ton of each variety. I really wanted to have a way you could just buy a single pack of two at a time. The same way I do when I visit an Asian grocery.
