This is one sent by a reader named Keijiro – thanks! I’ve seen this one many times, but only way I’ve seen to get it is online and in a large quantity. I appreciate it so much when readers share a pack or two of something.
The character on here is Kumamon, the mascot of Kumamoto Prefecture. He’s welcoming you to enjoy fine tonkotsu. Shall we try?
Itsuki Kumamon Kumamoto Tonkotsu – Japan
Detail of the packaging (click to enlarge). Guessing it contains pork but check for yourself. To prepare, add 1/2 of the noodles to 450ml boiling water. Cook for 2 minutes. Add in one sachet of each type. Finally, stir and enjoy!
Half of the noodles (one serving).
Two powder base sachets.
Two oil sachets.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added Salad Cosmo mung bean sprouts, spring onion, chashu, soft egg, shichimi, and sesame seeds. This is just one of many excellent ramen offerings from this company. The noodle imparts a nice floury Hakata style to it. The broth is very good – nice and rich with tasty depth. Elegant, harboring devout worshippers. 5.0 out of 5.0 stars. JAN bar code 4901726014479.
