This looks like a nice curry udon – I heard recently that if you boil the noodles instead of steep them, you’ll end up with a slightly chewier udon – however I have to steep these because I do everything by manufacturer’s directions. However – you don’t so you might give it a try! Let’s check it out!
Maruchan Kuroi Buta Curry – Japan
Detail of the side panels (click to enlarge). Probably contains meat – check for yourself. To prepare, add boiling water to line as well as clear sachet contents. Cover for 5 minutes. Add in powder sachet contents. Finally, stir and enjoy!
Detail of the lid (click to enlarge).
A block of udon.
A sachet of powder soup base.
A sachet of solid ingredients.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added Salad Cosmo mung bean sprouts, spring onion, and tofu. Udon had a nice tooth to it – a little more chew than I expected. Broth is saltier than I’d like. Sumptuous, but too salty. 2.5 out of 5.0 stars. JAN bar code 4901990325189.
