Toei Non Cup Kitsune Udon – Japan
Detail of the side panels (click to enlarge). Looks to be meat free but check for yourself. To prepare, warm a bowl with a rinse of boiling water. Add package contents and 400ml water. cover for 5 minutes. Finally, stir and enjoy!
The noodle block.
A dry sachet of soup base.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added kamaboko, sesame seed, shichimi, Salad Cosmo mung bean sprouts, and spring onion. The noodle came out decently – less floppy than expected – and a lot of noodles. The broth wasn’t as ‘pushy’ as I usually find kitsune udon broth – not as salty and strong. This was welcome. I’m generally not a fan of this style, but that fact made me warm up to it a little more. The tofu was alright, although I must say I prefer the big slab of tofu to the little slices. 3.5 out of 5.0 stars. JAN bar code 4952549031389.
