Three Chinese varieties found at the same store in a row. I still feel like crap – it’s the third day of reviews but I’m doing four today.
Here’s an interesting one – a nice graphic on a box of noodles. Let’s check it out.
Shoo Loong Kan Mianyang Instant Rice Noodle – China
A distributor/import sticker (click to enlarge).
Detail of the back of the box (click to enlarge). Looks to be meat free but check for yourself. To prepare, add everything to 500ml boiling water and cook 3 minutes. Finally, stir and enjoy!
Rice vermicelli.
A wet sachet of soup base.
Not sure what’s in here.
Another wet sachet, probably pickled something.
More pickled things?
Finished (click to enlarge). Added spring onion and sesame seed. The vermicelli was very soft and somewhat funky. The broth had a kind of nice flavor, but it definitely was confusing what was going on here. Not the product’s fault but my unfamiliarness to this flavor profile. It was definitely interesting though – not bad. 3.0 out of 5.0 stars. EAN bar code 6971013101968.
