Here’s a classic one from Japan found in a Zenpop box – check out zenpop.jp and use the coupon code RAMENRATER for a discount!
Here’s what they had to say about it – “A classic tonkotsu ramen. With a mellow, spicy pork bone flavor from the broth paired with chili peppers and peppers, this cup pulls no punches, and without a doubt lifts itself up to the top shelf of tonkotsu ramen. This sweet and spicy combination is a nice innovation, and distinguishes this cup from the many others available in Japan!”
This is a special day here – I (well, mostly my wife) made chashu for the first time. Big thank you to Peter T. for the expert recipe and help! Next time there will be an instructional video as his recipe is really easy and comes out perfectly.
Another big thing today – it’s my daughter Mimi’s last day of remote learning for the year. She’s in Preschool. It’s a trip – she’s going to be doing in person Preschool in the fall and we’re really happy for her – she’s so outgoing and this whole pandemic thing really has ended up with her and her brother missing out on actual playing with other kids.
Well, let’s give this a go!

A wet base sachet.
A dry sachet of garnish.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added marinated egg, homemade chashu, spring onion, Salad Cosmo mung bean sprouts, narutomaki, and chili oil. Wow – just wow. The noodles have a really wonderful tooth to them – great gauge too. Totally impressed with the noodles! The broth is a very tasty tonkotsu and the addition of the seasoned oil was perfect, and accompanies by lots of sesame seeds, mushroom, and bits of pork. I’m floored – was just perfect! 5.0 out of 5.0 stars. JAN bar code 4901990368438.
