Here’s another one I found at Uwajimaya a couple days ago when getting some narutomaki. I think the last time I tried this it was called Umami Tonkotsu. Anyways, ;et’s give it a go!
Nissin Raoh Artificial Tonkotsu Flavor Ramen Noodle Soup – United States
Detail of the packaging (click to enlarge). Looks to be meat free but check for yourself. To prepare, boil noodles in 2 cups water for 4 minutes. Add in sachet contents. Finally, stir and enjoy!
The noodle block.
A large dry base sachet.
A liquid based sachet.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added homemade chashu, narutomaki, spring onion, sesame oil, sesame seed, and shichimi. Noodles came out great – good quality on them. The broth was pretty good but seemed to miss something. It had the nice earmarks of tonkotsu – the milky and creamy broth, however the artificial formulation didn’t deliver the pork taste I crave. 3.75 out of 5.0 stars. UPC bar code 070662500033.
