I often get samples of www.japancrate.com’s Umai Crates – they’re boxes full of Japanese ramen and extras – and one of those extras are recipe cards. I thought hey – here’s an interesting one and decided to share it today. By the way if you want to get an Umai Crate, check out the Japan Crate site and use THERAMENRATER as a promo code at checkout for a discount! These would make really great holiday gifts for people who are into Asian food and culture – lots of neat stuff to find in these boxes.

I was fascinated to find that condensed milk is gooey – thought maybe it was bad. Never worked with powdered sugar before either which was odd as well.
Watch me do ‘er up! Luckily there was a ton of parchment paper someone had left in our mailroom about a year ago. People leave things for anyone to grab in there – often people bring boxes of expired bread which I find really annoying – especially in the summer when it goes bad quick and they get moldy.

I think I used a slightly smaller noodle block than would be good on this one – Sapporo Ichiban or Nissin Demae Ramen would probably be perfect. Also maybe a bit less cooking spray on the parchment would have been good too. Nonetheless, really tasty! I left it in the fridge after the video a few hours and it set up a little better – so there’s that. If you like chocolate in your peanut butter, this is decent – and the instant noodles work. A little crunch and the texture is nice.
