Here’s what they have to say about this one – ‘Perfect for summer! Initially released in 2019, Maruchan is bringing back our favorite heat-beating noodles only for a couple of months. Cold kake type meat udon with lemon flavor on a smooth and chewy thin udon and a soup with bonito flakes and kelp soup stock enhanced by the umami of pork and sourness of the lemon flavor.
Sadly, by the time you see this, summer will be over – but that’s okay because there’s never a bad time for noodles. Let’s check this one out!
Maruchan Cold Niku Udon – Japan
Detail of the side panels (click to enlarge). Contains beef and pork. To prepare, add in clear sachet and boiling water to line. Cover 5 minutes. Drain. Add in cold water and rinse/drain. Add in remaining sachet contents. Finally, stir and enoy!

Finished (click to enlarge). Added Fresno peppers, spring onion, Salad Cosmo mung bean sprouts, sesame seed, and shichimi. Noodles are broad and a little thick – making them cold stiffens them up slightly with was nice. The flavor is a citrus and salty affair with a soy bump. Not bad. 3.5 out of 5.0 stars.
