Here’s the second of two products from Soupply containing retort pouches. This is really quite awesome – something I’ve wanted to see for a long time. Retort pouches are like flexible cans that can contain meats, vegetables, broths and more. This gives a serious boost to noodle soups that are shelf stable. Let’s check it out!

Detail of the outer wrap (click to enlarge). Contains chicken. To prepare, add in noodles and herbs, meat, and seasoning sachets. Add 2 cups room temperature water and microwave for 2 minutes. Finally, garnish with remaining sachets and enjoy!

Finished (click to enlarge). Added jalapeno slices, mung bean sprouts, basil, and lime. Noodles came out perfectly with a soft tooth. The broth is succulent – a salty and rich chicken flavor which is augmented by a decent amount of real chicken. This is a game changer in the world of instant pho and truly sets a new bar.
