It’s been a while and thought hey – today is Lunar New Year so I’m doing Chinese reviews today. This is a very popular street dish – the noodle is called Liangpi. It’s a cold noodle dish, and really quite tasty – let’s get started!
Qinsheng Shaanxi Cold Noodle Hot & Spicy Flavor – China
A distributor’s label (click to enlarge).
Detail of the packaging (click to enlarge). Looks to be meat free but check for yourself. To prepare, Boil the liangpi noodles for 5-10 minutes until al dente. Boil gluten for around the same amount of time. Rinse liangpi noodles and gluten, remove- it’s meant to be eaten dry.
Combine the gluten and liangpi noodles. Finally, stir in the sauce and enjoy!
The liangpi noodle.
A spicy sauce.
Garlic water I think.
Wheat gluten.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added sliced chashu, mung bean sprouts, spring onion, and sesame seed. Noodle came out just right and gluten was a nice little topping. Spiciness was on point and tanginess was there too. 4.0 out of 5.0 stars. EAN bar code 6933349214118.
