They had this to say about it -‘One of our favorite noodle series ever: QTTA from Maruchan. We love all of their samples and have included many in our packs. This time, we got
you a mellow creamy soup spreading a scent of lard and wide noodles with a firm texture and butter aromas. This cup is both mellow and creamy. It’s comes with a well-balanced
amount of tarako (タラコ, cod roe) that pairs deliciously with the butter cream. This is something they worked on a lot, and they’ve made it so creamy, that we actually love dipping in a little bread after finishing the noodles. That’s a lot of love for our carbs, but worth it! The noodles are quite thick, and made with a proprietary rice cake-style manufacturing method, making them unique in the instant noodle-verse. This density is necessary to stand out from the creaminess, and something reminiscent of cream pasta.’
So I’m definitely into trying this but I will say first off I didn’t get any kind of butter scent when opening this cup, but rather an insanely deep deep sea dive into fishiness. I’ve had plenty of mentaiko and tarako noodle over the years, but nothing that smelled this funky. May the funk be the funk. Let’s hit it.

Detail of the side panels (click to enlarge). Conatins Fish and pork. To prepare, fill to line with boiling water and cover for 3 minutes. Finally, stir and enjoy!

The noodle block.
Loose seasoning and bits from the cup.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added mung bean sprouts, chashu, soft egg, and spring onion. The noodle in this one was pretty good – a little thicker. The broth was quite good – a milky and buttery one with a light tarako hit to it. It smelled horrible when I opened the cup, but once prepared it was quite good. 4.25 out of 5.0 stars.
