I think I was able to try the non-export version of this when I was in Thailand at the MAMA rice noodle factory. I was part of an Iron Chef judging competition where a contestant from Iron Chef Thailand was there and she made all the varieties from this range.
Then the guests (they were all distributors from Europe) got into groups and competed with each other to make the nicest dish with the ingredients they had on hand. It was fun – I think I voted for the guys from the UK who did this variety and loaded it up with chili peppers.
Well, let’s see if I can do something nice with these – I always try to make things look and taste nice!
MAMA Singapore Noodles Meal Kit – Thailand
A distributor’s sticker (click to enlarge).
Detail of the packaging (click to enlarge). Looks to be meat free but check for yourself. To prepare, boil noodles 1 minute then rinse in cold water. Then heat oil in a skillet, add chicken, shrimp and stir fry. Move that to the side of the pan and add a beaten egg and let that cook a little. Then add in the noodle and sauce. Stir fry everything together for 30 seconds. Then add bean sprouts, carrot, and spring onion and stir fry 2 minutes. Enjoy!
A rice vermicelli block.
A sachet of Singapore sauce.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added ingredients per instructions, sesame seed, thin sliced Thai chili pepper. Vermicelli works well with the sauce which is a little sweet, and little spicy, a little soy. Not bad at all and a pretty good bargain – really quite nice. 5.0 out of 5.0 stars.
