Here’s what they had to say about this one – ‘Have you ever taken a romantic stroll along the temples and shrines of Kyoto? Maybe these noodles are what you need; they’ll make you feel
like you’re sitting in front of the Kamo river, glancing at the beauty of this ancient city. These Seabura Soy sauce ramen (背脂醤油ラーメン) from Sapporo Ichiban are following the traditional recipes of Kyoto’s back fat soy sauce ramen. Smooth and lightly sticky, the noodles are a match for the mellow and deep aromas of the soy sauce that benefit from the richness
of back fat. The creators used some red pepper to accentuate the taste and give it a little love. To top it off, you’ll find some chashu pork and kindly sprinkled green onions.’
Yeah that seabura backfat stuff adds a nice oiliness and richness usually. Let’s give this one a try and see how we end up.

The noodle block.
A wet sachet of soup base.
The garnish sachet with chashu slice.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added soft egg, narutomaki, mung bean sprouts, spring onion, sesame seed, and chashu. The noodles were alright, however the broth had a bitterness I didn’t enjoy at all. A lot of fancy talk that came up short. 2.0 out of 5.0 stars. JAN bar code 4901734028918.
