This is the third of three varieties from this company and I’m very curious. This one has a lot of sachets with it – a lot. Check them out below! Let’s give it a go!
John’s Beautiful Hot And Sour Noodles – Taiwan
Detail of the packaging (click to enlarge). Looks to be meat free but check for yourself. To prepare, boil noodle 6~7 minutes and drain. Add in sachet contents and stir. Finally, top with the special sauce and enjoy!
An individual package.
The noodle block.
A dark liquid sachet.
An oil sachet.
An infused oil.
Another oil sachet.
Black vinegar, perhaps?
Unsure about this one.
Finished (click to enlarge). Added crushed red pepper, scallion, and sesame seed. The noodles are thin and light with a great mouthfeel. The flavor is really complex – it has a Sichuan peppercorn note and a sourness, but unlike so many it doesn’t stop there. There are flavors in there I can’t really describe other than just plain delicious. It’s flavorful, savory, and imparts such a wonderful smorgasbord of Taiwanese flavors. This is the third of the series they sent I’ve tried in one day and I have to admit I’ve eaten most of each one and my belly is full. 5.0 out of 5.0 stars. EAN bar code 4711279650068.
